Lots of Halloween Fun

We had an AWESOME week learning about pumpkins. We made a very special pumpkin treat for our moms and dads.

We talked about Big and Small, then we measured our pumpkins.

We discussed the numbers 2 and 3, then we counted and put stickers on a pumpkin to correlate with the correct number.

We decorated pumpkins with Mr. Potatoe Head pieces.

We sorted colors and put them in the correct color pumpkins.

And we gave our arm muscles a workout while we pounded golf tees into a pumpkin using a hammer.

Then it was time for the BIG party!  We opened up a pumpkin and discovered what was inside.

We reviewed how red and yellow made orange while we made orange frosting for our yummy cookies.

Then we practiced our fine motor skills while we frosted and decorated our pumpkin cookies!  YUMMY!!!!!!

We even got to go Trick-Or-Treating around the school!!!!!

And celebrate a birthday!

Thank you God for such a WONDERFUL day with an AWESOME group of kids.

Fire Safety

This week we learned all about Fire Safety, and what to do in case of a fire.  We learned that you have to crawl under the smoke!  The kids had a blast practicing crawling through a tunnel in the classroom.

The kids also discovered it was a cool place to hang out!

They also learned that if you mixed red and yellow together you made the color orange!

Art can be sooo messy sometimes!

We also worked on our writing skills by helping the firetruck get to the house.

And by making the rungs of the ladder on these beautiful firetrucks we assembled all by our self.

It was a week full of learning packed into one day, and it was oooh so fun!

More Apple Fun!!!

This week we had more fun with apples, we talked about the fact that apples grow on trees.  Then, we had some silly fun making apple trees with our hands!

It was also very cool to use glue and bingo dotters to construct a tree using the letter T as a trunk!

We also worked on our cutting skills to make an apple.  This skill takes a lot of practice and a lot of fine muscle strength, but the kids worked real hard and I was very proud of them and their beautiful apples!

These past few weeks, I have been so impressed by these little kiddos, or should I say BIG kids.  They love to come to circle time to sing songs, read books, and talk about the new concept for the week.

They work hard to master the skill we are working on, and to make beautiful pictures for all of you.

And they play well together!!!

What a GREAT group of kids!  I am so blessed.
