Christmas at LAP

The kids have been busy little elves these past 2 weeks getting into the Christmas spirit and learning a little along the way.  We made a beautiful Christmas tree by putting green strips of paper in order from biggest to smallest.  Then they took a Q-tip and painted snow.

The kids were so proud of their creations!

They also decorated a Christmas tree by coloring in the ornaments the correct color, then they graphed the number of each color ornament.

We played a fun game with dice!  The kids would roll the dice and then Bingo Stamp the number they rolled until their tree was all colored!  This was a favorite among many of the boys!

We practiced many skills in the sensory tub this week.  The kids cut, taped, folded, measured, and wrote out cards to make presents for all their friends.  It was so awesome hearing all their conversations.   They were using their manners telling their friends "Thank you" for their gifts, giving hugs, and learning how awesome it is to give to others!

We also got busy making many presents for all of you.  We made snowmen families,

Gingerbread men,
And some beautiful glittery crosses.
Then we got busy making gift bags.  We had to paint our feet to make a reindeer.  It tickled a little!

We wrapped up all our presents and stuffed our gift bags!
Then it was party time!  We played Holiday Bingo, opened up so many presents,

And made some edible Christmas Trees!

It was A LOT of fun!  I just loved seeing all those smiling faces!  Have a wonderful Christmas with your precious little ones!

A Christmas Tradition

Ornament painting has become a tradition here at Lafayette Academy.  The kids really look forward to having their special helper come and paint ornaments with them!  I absolutely love watching the kid's eyes light up when all the parents enter the room.  It is such a wonderful moment and one the kids talk about for years to come.  It was a great time, and  I hope you all enjoyed it.
