Thanksgiving Feast

We had a wonderful day today at Lafayette Academy!  We learned about the 1st Thanksgiving, the letter T, and cornucopias.

We started off our day by learning about the letter T and had a lot of fun gluing triangles on and big T.

Next we learned about cornucopias and how they used them as baskets as they collected fruits and vegetables during the harvest.

Finally it was time for our feast.  We invited the other 2 year old class over, and we all dressed as Pilgrims and Native Americans to reenact the 1st Thanksgiving.

We all made our own cornucopias using Bugles, Ritz crackers, fruit snacks, and cream cheese!

YUM!!!  YUM!!!!

As if that wasn't enough fun for the day, we were lucky enough to ended our day with a birthday celebration and a cookie cake!

The Birthday Girl!!

And no party would be complete with out a little Ring-Around-the-Rosie!

Happy Turkey Day!!!!!

Fall Fun

These past few weeks we have had a lot of fun with leaves and turkeys.  We have made many crafts with feathers and glue, and they are doing a great job working and learning.

They have also discovered a real love for books and can always be found curled up with a good book!

We have also worked a lot with numbers these past few weeks and they absolutely loved the new turkey game we played called "Guess the missing feather.

One person would go up and choose a feather.

While everyone closed their eyes.

Then we would all count together to find out the missing one!

It was so much fun.  They also had a lot of fun playing with the new train set that was purchased for our room with the Trike-a-thon money.  Thank you so much for all who gave and participated in this years fundraiser.

Pumpkins and Costumes

We had a great day Thursday in the two's room.  We got to dress in costume and parade around the school.  We had quite a variety of costumes in our class.  We had everything from Snow White, to Minnie Mouse, to Thing 1 and much much more.  Here are some I was able to capture on film.

We also had a lot of fun with pumpkins today.  We carved a pumpkins and got to touch pumpkin goo.  As you can see some of the kids loved the feel of the goo and some didn't even want to sit on the tablecloth we set out :)

We also got to decorate pumpkins with glitter, make pumpking books, and investigate pumpkins, gourds, and corn in the sensory table.  It was so much fun.
