A Little Bit of Everything

What a crazy week full of a little bit of everything!  We started off the week talking about the election, who the candidates were, and what it means to vote.  We had our own mock election, and the kids loved filling out their ballot and putting their vote in the "voting box."

Then we recorded the votes and graphed the results.  Barrack Obama won the vote in our class by a vote of 6-8.  I absolutely loved doing this activity with the kids, it got them so excited about the election and they couldn't wait to see who was going to win on Tuesday!
Then on Wednesday, we were back to business as usual.  We discussed Fall and things that happen in the fall.  We talked about the leaves changing colors, weather getting cooler, and even how the days are getting shorter.  The kids decorated the word "Fall" by taking little square pieces of tissue paper, rolling it into a ball, and gluing it onto the word.  This was a great fine motor activity that gave their fine motor muscles a workout.
They also decorated a scarecrow that gobbled up letters.  It was a fun activity that the kids loved to check out and play with.

The kids are doing an awesome job with their new morning centers.  They are continuing to work hard everyday.  I am so proud of them!
