Today we had a lot of fun with Penguins. We learned a lot about penguins, where they live, what they eat, and one of their favorite things to learn was that a daddy penguins hold the eggs on their FEET! We also learned that Penguin and Polar Bear begin with the letter P. We practiced making the letter P, learned the letter P's sound, and did a craft with the letter P. They had a lot of fun gluing penguins and polar bears on the letter P they wrote themselves.
As you can see, the kids were very proud of their artwork.
The kids also had a lot of fun in the sensory table today. It was filled with blue rice (water), penguins, and icebergs. The kids had a blast finding the penguins in the water and filling up the "icebergs" with the correct number of penguins. They also did A LOT of counting too!
One of the highlights of the day was when the kids got to pretend to be penguins, waddling around the room, jumping from iceberg to iceberg, and swimming if they fell off. It was a great game that had them practicing their balance and coordination!
It was an awesome day with an awesome group of kids! Can't wait to see you all next week.
Love the blue rice and the counting activity!
