We finished up another set of morning centers this week. The kids are doing so well on them, writing words, doing puzzles, reading books, I am so impressed.
The kids made 2 different books this week. One book had them practicing writing their name and the other had them writing many of their new space vocabulary words.
We began doing some word work. I typed the sentence, "I can see the sun." The kids then traced the sentence and cut out the words to make the sentence. This is a great activity to show the kids that words have meaning and that they need to be in the correct order to make sense.
We made space words and objects out of play-doh.
We made rocket ships out of pattern blocks and our big cardboard blocks.
Made some really cool space pictures that had pictures of us blasting off into space and floating around as an astronaut.
Listened to the story Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.
Made a graph of our favorite object out in space (check out the invented spelling, the kids helped me write the words!)And, we even had time to check out our new playground and enjoy the fresh air!
It was truly a week that was out of this world!
